Each of our handler is cross-trained with at least 3 dogs. 
 

Handler Training

We also offer maintenance training for K-9 handlers.  We specialize in tracking and scent detection.  Call Sue at 815-590-8008 for more information. 

Courses offered:  Field Work (customized to fit your needs)

                          Scent Detection Games (includes odor basics, record keeping)

                          Basic Canine Care and Maintenance 

                          Animal Behavior and Learning

                          Ethology

                          Tracking  (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced)

                          Schutzund Tracking (not recommended for working dogs)

                                                 

Interested in becoming a handler?  Minimal requirements:  You must be 18 or over.  High School graduate or GED.  No criminal record.  A clean driving record.  A background in law enforcement is a plus.  Dog handling experience is not necessary.  Contact Sue at 815-590-8008.
